Warrior wisdom?

June 7, 2017—Summer moviegoers threw a golden lasso around “Wonder Woman,” the first true superheroine blockbuster.

As Warner Bros. distribution chief Jeff Goldstein said, “There’s something iconic about Diana and the story of Wonder Woman that’s hitting the zeitgeist perfectly.” The weekend’s global screenings opened at $223 million, second only to “The Dark Knight Rises” for a DC Comics film. Diana, Roman goddess of the hunt shown here, was undoubtedly an inspiration for Diana Prince, portrayed by Gal Gadot. Chances are good the goddess would appreciate that the director, Patty Jenkins, is also a visionary woman. Image credit: REUTERS/Mario Anzuoni
